December 22, 2025It is with great sadness I have to announce the unexpected passing of my son, Jason in March of this year. Jason suffered a heart attack and it is heartbreaking to not have him here. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We honor his legacy by continuing to offer quality hunting opportunities and mentoring youth hunters by remaining open. We are inviting old and new customers to experience Mazonia Hunt Club!
We have been shooting limits the past few weekends and have ducks and geese on the Braidwood Lake refuge in numbers we have not seen for years! The daily bag limit has remained 3 geese!
We are proud to say we are now taking reservations till January 15th for the North Zone and January 31st, 2026 in Central Zone. We will still be offering the area west of Rockford around Rochelle and North fields near Orangeville through season end.

Since we went in business 27 years ago we have averaged over 1.2 geese per hunter or 120% success ratio. Hunt in the comfort of heated in-ground pits or our spacious blinds. We cater to all levels of waterfowl hunting expertise, from seasoned professionals to those just being introduced to waterfowl hunting. We encourage youth hunting and offer a free hunt to youths age 15 and under on their first visit with a paying adult! In addition we offer a discount for all active military, police, and firefighters. The area surrounding Mazonia Hunt Club is the undisputed goose hunting mecca for the Illinois Central Zone. When the weather drives the geese south, Mazonia Hunt Club becomes the chosen feeding grounds and hunters score bag limits consistently. Our club features heated pits and above ground blinds which can comfortably accommodate up to seven goose hunters and their gear. We also use a mobile blind in the north zone that comfortably accommodates five hunters. We hunt over a spacious array of the finest goose and duck decoys available. Your hunt will be with a professional goose guide that will make every effort to assure your success in the field. Of course Mother Nature is in charge, but we make every effort to make it a safe and comfortable experience.
